It’s a bird. It’s a plane. OMG no! It’s fucking football season!!! Actual real games, real betting lines, and DFS lineups are officially upon for football in 2022. And, I am here to deliver DFS targets in Week 0 for possibly the best/worst slate of football games any of us could image. Why? Because like pizza and sex, there really isn’t any such thing as a bad college football slate. Also, I’m a degenerate and have nothing better to do. Without further ado, let’s get DEEEEP into the Austin Peay and Duquesne football programs!

Drae McCray | WR | Austin Peay $4,700

Slates like this are wacky. Half of the games don’t even have Vegas odds. But, ignoring the lesser known programs would be a mistake in such an endeavor. A wideout like McCray is exactly what the DFS doctor has ordered for a slate like this. He is the clear WR1 coming off a 52-872-8 freshman season line. And, it’s highly likely game flow will dictate plenty of throwing as the Governors are approximately 27-point dogs and are playing in the game that boasts the highest total of the day. Using a 2021 Division I matchup as an illustration of results, McCray produced a 6-87 line in a blowout loss against Ole Miss last season in just his second career college game. He is the perfect price/floor/upside combo candidate that you should consider for a very fun nonsensical slate like this.

Dalvin Smith | WR | Western Kentucky $3,500

Sticking in that same game, there should be a ton of value in the WKU receivers with an offense that refuses to stop throwing the ball. The top wideout in this high octane attack from last year, Jerreth Sterns, is gone to the NFL leaving a YUGE amount of production on the table for someone to gobble up. The pecking order isn’t clearly established heading into 2022, but Smith will definitely have a role after serving in a complimentary one last season. At a price like his, he could be the steal of the slate. Toledo transfer Michael Mathison and returning starter Daewood Davis present fantastic value options in this offense as well. At under 5k, Davis is coming off a 43-763-8 season.

Dwayne Menders Jr. | WR | Duquesne $4,800

The former Marist standout is looking like the Dukes top option in the passing game for 2022. The logic is similar to McCray’s. Both have a positive game script for substantial throwing where they both are likely to be best beneficiary of such circumstances. And, because we’re not used to seeing teams like this in any fantasy format, they’re both flying just enough under the DK radar to be about 1k in value under their fair market value. If you don’t believe me, just take from the man himself here where he describes his game as a combination of Antonio Brown and Justin Jefferson. Now, that’s the type of modesty I’m looking for in Week zero.

Good luck this Saturday! I’ll be back next week and the rest this season with much more. Follow me on twitter @realBobbyAdcock.
