Week 13 Best Bets: Swim with the Dolphins post thumbnail image

Folks, we are winding down. Can you believe we are in December already, and at Week 13? The NFL season moves so fast and a lot has happened a week since we last spoke. And the biggest storyline of the week, how will teams deal with injuries?

Major fantasy implications arise as Christian McCaffrey is now officially out for the season, while Dalvin Cook will again miss a few games.

Don’t forget about the Eagles. Will Jalen Hurts play? Can Boston Scott fill in for Miles Sanders?

Will Kyler Murray play this week? How about Daniel Jones? Are we really going to see Mike Glennon plan for the Giants this week? (Gross…)

Deebo Samuel has slowly become the best running option for the 49ers, and he gets hurt? C’mon!

Last week did not go as planned. The Jaguars, the Titans, and the Eagles all turned out to be terrible, terrible picks.

But, on the bright spot, the 49ers did cover against the Vikings and won me a lock of the week! So there’s a little positive in a week filled with negativity.

Week 12 Recap

Jacksonville Jaguars (+2, -110) vs the Atlanta Falcons. Falcons win 21-14

Vegas got cleaned out with this game. The Falcons were getting a huge share of the money on this game, and they proved why the public felt that way. The Jaguars stink. Urban says he’s focused on the NFL, maybe he should focus on winning some games.

Titans (+7, -115) at the New England Patriots. Patriots win 36-13

Again, everyone was believing in the New England Patriots, and they definitely showed why. Ryan Tannehill struggled without many of his top weapons and the Patriots dominated the Titans from the beginning of the game. Just a bad spot to try and bet against the Patriots with the injury-decimated Titans.

Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5, -110) at the New York Giants. Giants win 13-7.

I do not understand the Eagles. How can they look so good one week, and then just absolutely stink? Jalen Hurts threw four interceptions and did his best to tank my fantasy team. Unlike the Eagles, my team pulled out a victory, but things did not look good for the Eagle this week.

Lock of the Week

San Francisco 49ers (-3, -110) vs the Minnesota Vikings. 49ers win 34-26

Kirk Cousins lined up under the guard. What a clip! 49ers win, and Tim wins a lock of the week. Let’s go!

Weekly Record: 1-3-0

Overall Record: 24-24-0

Lock of the week: 5-7-0

Week 13 Card

All lines are current as of Wednesday Night on the Draftkings Sportsbook

New Orleans Saints (+4.5, -110) vs the Dallas Cowboys

I’m going to do something I have not done yet this season, I am going to use Thursday Night Football. The Saints will turn to Taysom Hill against a Cowboys team that is decimated with Covid. Head Coach Mike McCarthy will not coach, numerous players are out, and Zeke is injured. I like the Saints at home, possibly as a ML Dog as well.

Indianapolis Colts (-8.5, -110) at the Houston Texans

The Texans are bad. The Colts have figured out how to use Jonathan Taylor, while the Texans have the 31st-worst-ranked rushing defense. I see a big day for JT and the Colts cover this number easily.

New York Jets (+7, -115) vs the Philadelphia Eagles

As noted above, the Eagles just can’t figure it out. Some weeks, they are really good. Some weeks, they are really bad. Questions still surround this game for the Eagles. Will it be Jalen Hurts at QB, or will it be Gardner Minshew? Either way, I think the Jets keep it close and cover the 7 points.

Lock of the Week

Miami Dolphins (-4.5, -110) vs the New York Giants

You couldn’t possibly think that Mike Glennon will beat an NFL team right? The Miami Dolphins sneakily are on a four game win streak, The defense that shut down Lamar Jackson, will not get torched by Mike Glennon. Give me the Dolphins and lock it up!

Best of luck!
Tim
