Week 11 Best Bets: Raiders look to Rebound post thumbnail image

Well, well, well…it has been quite a season already, and here we are after 10 weeks, finally back at 0.500. Someone who might not know gambling might scoff at a 0.500 record, but for some of us, we know that 0.500 is very acceptable. Especially with eight weeks still to go in the season. So here’s to being back at 0.500, but here’s also to knowing that we can definitely get better.

Week 10 was another fantastic week in the NFL. And just like it has been for most of the season, this week was dominated by underdogs.

Cam Newton returned to Carolina and instantly sparked an offense that had been sputtering. We’ll see if Cam can return to old Cam and his MVP level.

The 49ers absolutely routed the Los Angeles Rams. Did we possibly anoint the Rams as Super Bowl contenders prematurely? The number of teams they’ve beaten with a winning record, 1, the Tampa Bay Bucs in week 3.

And the Detroit Lions did not lose a football game…more on this later.

Week 10 Recap

Indianapolis (-10, -110) vs the Jacksonville Jaguars, Colts win 23-17

The one that ruined a perfect week. The Colts took care of business and won, but let the cover slip away late. It has taken a little while, but the Jaguars are actually starting to look like a competent football team. Might have to stop fading the Jags every week.

New England (-2.5, -110) vs the Cleveland Browns, Patriots win 45-7

Uh oh, is New England back? Mac Jones looks more than capable as an NFL quarterback and the Patriots look like a scary team after dominating the Cleveland Browns. Rhamondre Stevenson has been a name that has been linked with plenty of potential, and he showed it this week.

New Orleans Saints (+2.5, -105) at the Tennessee Titans

This was just good old fashion betting luck. The Saints score right at the end of the game, and set up a potential game-tying two-point conversion, and don’t get it. Thus losing the game, but securing a cover for us. Hey, sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good!

Lock of the Week

Detroit Lions (+8, -110) at the Pittsburgh Steelers

Speaking of Lucky, when this pick was made, it was made under the assumption that Big Ben would be playing. But, boy did we get lucky. Not that Big Ben is really good, but Mason Rudolph, on a short week, just wasn’t very good. The Lions had their shot to finally win a game, and let’s just say they Detroit Lioned it. But hey, it’s always a great feeling going into overtime with 8 points, but you have an automatic win and a lock of the week winner.

Weekly Record: 3-1-0

Overall Record: 20-20-0

Lock of the week: 4-6-0

Week 11 Card

Right to the picks this week…All picks are current as of Wednesday Night on the Draftkings Sportsbook

Philadelphia Eagles (-2, -110) vs the New Orleans Saints

The Eagles have found something. They found a running game, which is now a great compliment for Jalen Hurts and company. Devonta Smith has been a real weapon, and as long as the Saints are starting Trevor Siemian, they aren’t going to win very many ball games. Give me the Eagles.

Miami (-3.5, -110) at the New York Jets

Two words, Joe Flacco. The Jets are turning to the ELITE quarterback in the matchup of the bottom-feeders, and I have absolutely no faith in Flacco. The Dolphins are coming off a big victory against the Baltimore Ravens and have had 10 days to game plan against the Jets. The Dolphins find a way to win by more than four points.

Kansas City (-2.5, -115) vs the Dallas Cowboys

DJ, I am getting dangerously close to stating the Chiefs are back. A very dominant performance in a game which the Chiefs usually struggle has sparked my confidence in the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams are coming off huge wins, but I look for the Chiefs to continue their momentum and beat the Dallas Cowboys.

Lock of the Week

Las Vegas Raiders (+1, -115) vs the Cincinnati Bengals

I have been spurned for the last time, the Bengals are not yet a good football team, and I don’t believe they should be favored on the road against the Raiders. This line is a massive overreaction to the Raiders huge loss last week. The Raiders will win this ball game, lock it up!

Let’s keep the positive momentum going!

Best of luck!

-Tim
