Tim, you better start winning some bets. Going 1-3 in back-to-back weeks is not very good. Also, we might have to start seeing a therapist. In what world is betting on the Chicago Bears against Tom Brady a good bet? And the Eagles? Eventually, you’ll need to realize that your love for Fantasy Jalen Hurts, cannot possibly be matched by a love for the Real Jalen Hurts. The Eagles are just not a very good football team.
Not to solely pick on the negatives, you did win a Lock of the Week. The Bengals made their statement to the NFL that they are for real. Joe Burrow and Ja’marr Chase look like a formidable combo for the near future.
But, you got to do better. And the only way to get better is to be better this week. So hunker down, find some lines, and let’s go win some bets on the NFL.
Week 7 Card
Chicago Bears (+12, -110) at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bears lose 38-3
I can’t believe I bet the Bears…. 🤦♀️
Kansas City Chiefs (-5.5, -115) at the Tennessee Titans. Chiefs lose 27 – 3
DJ might not want to hear this, but the Chiefs….might be bad. Their offensive line is not giving Patrick Mahomes time to do Mahomes things. And when Mahomes starts pressing, the no-look passes and underhand tosses seem a little unproductive. Chiefs need to find something to help them, and quick.
Philadelphia Eagles (+3, -115) at the Las Vegas Raiders. Eagles lose 33-22.
I absolutely love Jalen Hurts as my fantasy QB. He’s been one of the more productive QBs for fantasy this season. But, real Jalen Hurts? The real Jalen Hurts struggles in NFL games. Rushing yards as a QB help fantasy, but if the Eagles want to win, they need to figure out a way to stabilize their offense.
Lock of the Week
Cincinnati Bengals (+6.5, -110) at the Baltimore Ravens. Bengals win 41-17
Bengals are for real folks. People will always remember that the Bengals lost to the Chicago Bears. I’m going to chalk that up as it was only Joe Burrow’s second game back from major knee surgery and Jamar Chase still couldn’t see the football. Bengals made a statement and now sit atop the AFC.
Weekly Record: 1-3-0
Overall Record: 12-16-0
Week 8 Card
Week 8 begins with my Green Bay Packers, being hit by the COVID bug and having to play without Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, as well as their defensive coordinator, Joe Berry. I still think the Packers can come out with a victory against the undefeated Arizona Cardinals. Hey, they went 6-0 without Davante Adams previously…
Here is the official Card for Week 8:
All lines are current on Draftkings Sportsbook as of Thursday AM
Tennessee Titans (+1.5, -110) at the Indianapolis Colts
It’s time people stop disrespecting the Tennessee Titans. They clearly have figured out how to shorten games with the rushing of Derrick Henry and look like a true championship-contending team. If Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can’t beat the Titans, I don’t have much faith that Carson Wentz can either.
LA Rams (-14, -115) at the Houston Texans
I opened this article with a letter to myself. That letter stated that I needed to start winning NFL bets. After looking in the mirror, I finally realized that betting the Houston Texans is a very, very bad idea. The Rams should have no trouble covering this number this week, especially if Cooper Kupp can continue his dominant start to the season.
Detroit Lions (+3.5, -115) vs the Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles, bad football team. Lions, hungry for a win. Dan Campbell showed he will do whatever is necessary to try and win a football game. They gave great effort in a loss against Los Angeles and nearly pulled away with the upset. Don’t be surprised if the fighting Dan Campbell’s pull off a victory this week.
Lock of the Week
Buffalo Bills (-13.5, -110) vs the Miami Dolphins
The Bills have already beat the Dolphins 35-0 and are coming off a bye after a devastating loss to the aforementioned Titans. The Bills will look to Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs to have big games against a not very good Miami Dolphins team. Bills by a lot.
Best of luck! Let’s have a week!
