2021 NFL DRAFT ROUND 2 WINNERS AND LOSERS:
This is not in any sort of ranking order and only covers some of the biggest winners and losers.
NEW YORK JETS PICK: ELIJAH MOORE, WR – OLE MISS
WINNERS: ELIJAH MOORE, WR/ ZACH WILSON, QB, TEVIN COLEMAN, RB L. PERINE
This offense gets a massive boost in pint size. I can’t speak highly enough about Elijah. Everything is elite but his size. Honorable mention to Corey Davis, who ges a pure slot WR that can take heat off of him.
Zach Wilson has quality targets around him. Lets see how good the kid is.
LOSER: JAMISON CROWDER, WR
May you rest in peace, good sir.
DENVER BRONCOS PICK: JAVONTE WILLIAMS, RB- UNC
WINNERS: WHOEVER WINS THE QB BATTLE IN DENVER
They have a nice two-headed monster in the backfield to take pressure off either Bridgewater or Lock. Obviously there
LOSER: MELVIN GORDON, RB AND JAVONTE WILLIAMS, RB
It’s going to be a committee and Javonte lacks elite speed. MG3 owners were hoping for a feature back role and that’s not happening.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES PICK: LANDON DICKERSON, C- ALABAMA
WINNER: JALEN HURTS AND MILES SANDERS
Good offensive lineman that can protect Hurts and pave a path for Miles Sanders. The whole offense gets a boost here.
CHICAGO BEARS PICK: TEVIN JENKINGS, OT- OKLAHOMA STATE
WINNERS: JUSTIN FIELDS, QB/ DAVID MONTGOMERY, RB/ CHICAGO PASS CATCHERS
Same deal as Philly.
ARIZONA CARDINALS PICK: RONDALE MOORE, WR- PURDUE
WINNERS: KYLER MURRAY, QB/ RONDALE MOORE, WR
Murray gets a rookie WR with mega upside finally. I trust Kingsbury to use Moore successfully and the sky’s the limit for both Moore and Kyler. Moore couldn’t ask for a better position honestly.
LOSERS: CHRISTIAN KIRK, WR
He couldn’t afford to lose any targets in my opinion.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS PICK: D’WAYNE ESKRIDGE, WR- WESTERN MICHIGAN
WINNER: RUSSELL WILSON, QB
Wilson gets another target in Eskridge that can score at any moment. He has a loaded WR to throw to. Eskridge lands in a good spot but volume will be a concern.
LOSERS: DK METCALF, WR/ TYLER LOCKETT, WR
Their target share will drop. They are probably pretty safe in 2021, but projecting the next couple years I think that they take a little hit.
LOS ANGELES RAMS PICK: TUTU ATWELL, QB- LOUISVILLE CARDINALS
WINNER: MATTHEW STAFFORD, QB
Another explosive passing option for Matt Stafford.
LOSERS: DESEAN JACKSON, WR/ VAN JEFFERSON, WR
If he takes any snaps (which he will) their snap count goes down. Van Jefferson value is completely lost until they release one of their WRs.
CAROLINA PANTHERS PICK: TERRACE MARSHALL JR, WR- LSU
WINNERS: SAM DARNOLD, QB AND DJ MOORE
Terrace Marshall was said to be a possible late first-round pick in the NFL Draft. I think he helps take eyes off of DJ Moore a little bit in the passing game and gives three good targets to Sam Darnold. There is no reason he can’t succeed here.
LOSER: ROBBY ANDERSON, WR
I was hoping he would get another year as No. 2 but he now has competition for targets. I would rank him at least five spots lower than he is, but that may be wishful thinking for Robby.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS PICK: KYLE TRASK, QB- FLORIDA GATORS
WINNER: KYLE TRASK, QB:
He gets one of the best landing spots possible, where he can learn from the very best in the business for a couple of years. A nice sleeper pick in superflex if you have the bench spot or taxi squad space to stash him.
