Possibly capping off their most eventful Free Agency Legal Tampering day in years, the New England Patriots have signed WR Nelson Agholor to a two-year, $26 million deal.

Agholor is coming off of his career best receiving yardage season. He also tied his best touchdown number with eight in 2020. At 6ft and just under 200 lbs, Agholor is one of the more sturdy WRs in the field stretcher category. In his six NFL seasons he has missed a total of nine games while playing a considerable, if not primary receiver role for his team.

Originally taken 20th overall by Philadelphia in the 2015 draft, Agholor has been in the spotlight for some of the Eagles biggest moments during his tenure for better or worse. After an injury plagued 2019, he signed with the Raiders & unexpectedly finished the 2020 season as the top performing receiver in Las Vegas with 48 receptions for 896 yards & eight touchdowns.

Since the Raiders now have a full offseason to develop their investment, Henry Ruggs III in 2021, it was expected that Agholor might not be back as the two play similar roles. Look for the Patriots to stretch the field with Agholor this year alongside another effective option in TE Jonnu Smith. Don’t be surprised if the AFC East is even more interesting this season.
