Islands in the Stream for Week 6 post thumbnail image

Well, we’ve made it through week 5 and are heading into another wave for week 6 streamers. For credibility purposes, we will look at least week streamers finishes. Kickers and defense are keeping our boat afloat, with my quarterback pick doing their best to sink the whole ship. Getting the ugly out of the way first, Daniel Jones finished QB22 in week 5, which is less than ideal. On the brighter side of the horizon the Cleveland Browns defense finished week 5 as the D/ST2, while Sam Sloman finished K10. Now that we got that out of the way, shall we dive into week 6 islands in the stream?

QB: Kirk Cousins v. Atlanta Falcons (32 percent rostered). “You like that?!” I know this seems gross from first glance but if you will wade through the details with me, it might just change your mind. The elephant in the room is that the Vikings will likely be without Dalvin Cook week 6 making the run game questionable. However, the Falcons secondary has allowed an average of 335.8 yards to opposing quarterbacks. Atlanta is ranked 30th in the league through five weeks allowing 32.2 points per game. If Kirk Cousins is going to right the ship, week 6 would be a fantastic place to start. I hope to see lots of both Adam Thielen and rookie wideout Justin Jefferson. Honorable week 6 stream mention: Ryan Fitzpatrick v New York Jets (21 percent rostered).

DEF/ST: Miami Dolphins v. New York Jets (3 percent rostered). This one, as you might imagine, is less about the average Dolphins defense and more about the abysmal New York Jets offense. The Jets are currently ranked 25th in the league in sacks allowed, while the Dolphins are tied for 7th in sacks through five weeks. Sam Darnold and Mehki Becton are questionable for week 6, both battling shoulder injuries. This means we could see another week of the elite Joe Flacco. The Jets are 28th in the league in total yards, if the Dolphins can keep Jamison Crowder quiet, they should be a fine stream for week 6. The Dolphins D also just put their best show of the season together last week against San Francisco.

Kicker: Jason Sanders v. New York Jets (39 percent rostered). Big streaming week for the Miami Dolphins as you could potentially stream a defense, kicker and quarterback this week. Sanders has been perfect through five weeks. In the last two weeks alone he’s attempted five field goals each week. In the last two weeks he’s put up 18 and 22 total fantasy points, respectively. I expect the Dolphins to continue both scoring touchdowns and stalling in the redzone allowing Sanders the opportunity to boot it through the uprights. Oh and as a fun fact, Jason Sanders caught a touchdown past last season making him the first kicker to catch a TD since 1977. (Editors note: We don’t want to say that was a long time ago, but it was the same year that Doug was born.)
